  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar

  • ½ tsp cinnamon

Instructions

1. Prep & Mix Batter:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking pan.

  • In a large bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

  • Stir in melted butter, brown sugar, eggs, vanilla, and applesauce until just combined.

  • Fold in apples and ½ cup butterscotch chips (reserve ¼ cup for topping).

2. Bake:

  • Spread batter into prepared pan. Sprinkle reserved butterscotch chips over top, then cinnamon-sugar mixture.

  • Bake 30-35 minutes until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.

3. Serve:

  • Cool 15 minutes before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature.
